Goal:
The Montessori materials in level 1 provide the child with an introduction to language and aims to lay the foundation for reading. Children will learn the sounds of the alphabet by means of muscular and visual memory through the use of sandpaper letters. The large moveable alphabet will give the child their first glimpse into the world of reading, spelling, and writing.
